Our mission
A Dying Norway in a Living America is a cultural preservation project dedicated to documenting the last generation of Norwegian speakers in America. Through photography and storytelling, we aim to capture the fading echoes of Norwegian heritage in the United States.
Our mission is to:

This project is a through the area the first organized group of Norwegian immigrants settled back in 1834. We focus on:

The team
Lars Idar Waage, a Norwegian photographer and visual artist, leads this project. With a background in documentary photography, Lars brings a unique perspective to capturing the essence of Norwegian-American culture.
